Kagami first meets Adrien in "Riposte" when she tries out for a spot in the fencing club. She fences with him and is distraught when she mistakenly believes that she lost, though she keeps her feelings to herself and even shakes his hand. Though Adrien offers her a decisive match, she sadly rejects the offer. However, once akumatized as Riposte, she targets Adrien, wanting a rematch with him at all costs. When she is deakumatized, she befriends him and agrees to eventually have a decisive match.

In "Frozer", she shows great concern for him when she notices how down he is. When Adrien tells her about his love issues, Kagami advises him to change his target. She accompanies him to the ice rink and when Adrien tells her that he has decided not to change targets after Frozer's defeat, Kagami respects his wishes but tells him that she'll be waiting for him when he gives up.

In "Animaestro", Kagami is happy to see Adrien at the movie premiere, but she becomes jealous upon noticing Marinette and Chloé, aware that they both also like Adrien. According to Mrs. Tsurugi, Kagami talks a lot about him. In "Oni-Chan", it is shown that Kagami really has strong feelings for Adrien as she flies into a bitter rage after seeing a photo of Lila kissing Adrien, leading to her akumatization.

In "Ikari Gozen" she was willing to disobey her mother to participate in a contest Adrien was taking part in. In season 3 finale, "The Battle of the Miraculous", just like Adrien, Kagami doesn't find the wedding anniversary very interesting. By helping Marinette, they escaped their parents and played a friendly match in the kitchen. Wanting to continue the fun, she, along with her friends, escapes to the roof and has fun in the ball pit until Placide I.T. arrives, but thanks to Marinette's clever thinking, they escape again, leaving the hotel.

In "Heart Hunter", after Kagami returns to Adrien from fighting as Ryuko, she tells him that Ladybug separated them to protect "people in love" from Heart Hunter. She then proceeds to lean in for a kiss, but Adrien is uncertain about what he wants and if he is ready for a more personal relationship. His uncertainty hurting Kagami in the process. However, by the end of "Miracle Queen", he decides that he wants to take the next step in Kagami's and his relationship and they start secretly dating.

However, this relationship is strained in "Lies", where after one too many times of Adrien having to excuse himself from spending time with her, she begins to suspect something is wrong which leads her to realize that he had been lying to her after she found the lucky charm bracelet that Marinette gave him, which he claimed he had ran off to retrieve from the barge. This greatly hurt Kagami because she had to lie to others just to spend time with Adrien and she thought he'd been lying to her to do the opposite. Her heartbroken state leads her to being akumatized into the titular villain. Yet, she was still hurt after she was de-evilized. The following day after fencing, she acknowledged to Adrien that he is definitely hiding something, but that he is also sincere. She tells him presently that she can't trust or be with someone who has lied to her. She tells Adrien she'll let him know if she's ready to see him again and leaves.

In "Mr. Pigeon 72", Kagami has moved on from Adrien, as shown when Marinette tries to bring them back together, but she refuses to fall in love for him again. By the end, she is able to realize Adrien and Marinette were made for each other. In "Optigami", when Style Queen almost aimed Adrien who is protecting Chloé, Kagami throws chairs at the villain and tells him to run to a safe area, confirms that she still cares for him after their breakup. Shown in "Glaciator 2", still considering him a friend, Kagami notices that Adrien is feeling down and desired help but when he told her that no one could. But upon seeing his performance improve she at first believed he was told about Marinette's feelings for him but not yet.

Seeing that Adrien was looking at Marinette, the way she wished he could look at her in "Determination", knowing that he has feelings for her despite his attempts to hide it. Kagami pushes him to set up a date with Marinette but hearing it with them going to the Wax Grevin Museum she was disappointed until Adrien clarified admitting that she was right about his feelings being unclear and that something changed but couldn't explain it with the change starting at the museum. She goes with him as moral support but seeing that Adrien wasn't getting anywhere with Marinette, she along with Luka tricked them into being alone and after Veronique's deakumatization. Kagami found Adrien looking for Marinette and once she was found but left in a hurry she asked Adrien if he found out where his heart lies to which he replied yes.

She reaches a critical lesson in their friendship with him in "Protection", being aware that Adrien and Marinette are becoming closer. Kagami felt very conflicted still having strong feelings for him and wishing to keep Marinette's friendship but her feelings reach their breaking point when she is fooled by Lila believing that Marinette is a manipulator. Leading her to being akumatizated again but this time wanted to protect her from deceiving everyone especially Adrien. As Riposte Prime, after she puts him in a protective sphere, she hoped they could be together again. Once deakumatized, she was saddened by her behavior towards Marinette. When explaining that Lila exposed her "true colors", Marinette quickly dismissed it and with Adrien admitting his true feelings towards her. Kagami broke down in tears knowing that they were both right and was embraced by Adrien feeling ashamed that her judgement was clouded believing she was weak. Until being told by her friend that showing her true feelings and trying to understand them isn't a sign of weakness but strength. Following suit, while embraced she admitted feeling happy for them but sad for herself.

In "Emotion", during the ball Kagami was suppose to dance with Adrien as king and queen (but actually it was Félix in disguise) and when she saw "him" dancing with Marinette she bared no ill will towards him. But when Félix revealed himself, Kagami was aware that Adrien was gone and despite Félix bringing him back they both shared a strong desire for their freedom; but didn't want it to the brink of chaos and misery and not without those they cared about. After an emotionally night, she shared some ice cream with him and Marinette; seeing the progress Adrien made in his relationship with Marinette she praised him.

In "Representation", Kagami was upset at being presented as Adrien's girlfriend by their parents in London on the news media, despite both of them being against it.

Also, through Félix she learned that Gabriel was Monarch but didn't hold any ill will towards Adrien nor told him the truth about his father, presumably to prevent him from becoming devastated with the revelation. From "Perfection" and "Protection", since Kagami was aware of Marinette's identity as Ladybug it's likely she figured out Adrien is in love with the heroine aside from not relaying the information to Monarch likely because back then she didn't believe it herself nor couldn't prove it. She also could've done it as a sign of their friendship wanting to protect him, his happiness, the world and also didn't tell him as she wanted Adrien to figure it out for himself.

In "Miraculous London", Kagami comforts Adrien with a hug when he's devastated by his father's death and wants to tell him the truth about Gabriel being Monarch, but refrains from doing so at Marinette's request, who lied saying Gabriel died as a hero.

Kagami is unaware of Adrien's double life as Cat Noir. During "Riposte", she is very angry that, along with Ladybug, he's protecting Adrien and an inferior opponent. In "Oni-Chan", she calls the hero inferior to his civilian alter ego and is furious when he compares himself to Adrien. After she is deakumatized, she gladly accepts back the rose he gives her.

But in "Pretension", when Cat Noir appeared to save her from Felix, she stood her ground telling him that she was no prisoner and spoke on Felix's behalf about being misunderstood leaving the hero confused. Nonetheless, Kagami still accepts the hero's help in deakumatizing her mother.

As Ryukomori, in "Perfection" she didn't like it when Cat Noir disturbed her quest for perfection. Then, as Riposte Prime in "Protection", she wasn't fond of him protecting Marinette. This time once she is deakumatized she refuses the magical charm knowing that they don't work against akumas but after having a heartfelt conversation with her friends she accepts it.

In "Glaciator 2", because of her suggestion unknown to her; and with Marinette finding Cat Noir at that moment to be her role-playing partner, she helped Marinette admit her feelings to Adrien.

As Ryuko, Kagami doesn't at first work along with Cat Noir, but when it results in him being held captive, she apologizes to Ladybug for failing them both, believing that she's not worthy to work alongside him. After being encouraged by Ladybug, she willingly lets herself get captured to save Cat Noir and takes the cat's compliment about being a fast learner. Like Ladybug, he includes her in their trademark pound it. In "Heart Hunter", she was happy to see him again and in "Lies", because of her being unaware of Adrien's double life as Cat Noir, when she sees Adrien pose as his alterego, she says he is acting silly.

As Ryuko, she helped Cat Noir on continuous missions until her last escapade in "Strikeback", stripped her of her powers.

Their relationship was originally tense, as shown in "Gabriel Agreste", when they're in Adrien's room, Félix and Kagami glare bluntly at each other, on Kagami's side presumably because of Félix's previous actions back in "Félix".

It becomes even more strained when Félix disguised himself as Adrien in "Emotion" and tried to flirt with her by kissing her hand and while doing so, Kagami noticed "Adrien" being shocked when seeing her ring, she talked to him during the ball about always being under their parents expectations but when "Adrien" expressed desire to leave the event she, although impressed by his boldness, refused. Then, after Félix revealed his identity and made her mother disappear to free her, she was sad and furious with him. Meeting him in the empty streets of Paris; Kagami called him a monster and furiously tried to fight him to avenge her loved ones, despite him bringing back Adrien; it wasn't enough quell her anger leaving Argos confused as he thought she wanted her freedom until Kagami clarified that how could she be free with no one here or especially her loved ones. Knowing that, to prove that he didn't erase all her loved ones she followed Argos to the place where he hid Marinette only to find her gone and him unable to bring her back leaving Kagami even more furious much so that she made the rogue holder undo his powers. But still not seeing Marinette anywhere she pushed Argos to do something until Marinette was found subsiding her anger.

However, Kagami's look on Félix changes in "Pretension", although she does accuse him for taking her away against her will. But when Félix explains his hatred for seeing any kind of life being manipulated or destroyed, including theirs, she instead sees Félix not an enemy, but misunderstood, just like her.

Due to this, she defends him from Ladybug and Cat Noir, as well as telling him to trust the superheroes so he can escape with his Miraculous. In the post end card cutscene when he gives her the real family crest ring so Kagami would be able to make her own decisions, she smiles and holds Félix's hand, showing she truly doesn't see him as an enemy anymore.

In "Representation, it's shown the two are in a secret romantic relationship, with Félix as Argos going to her hotel bedroom's window in London to draw a heart to her (making her giggle) and then the two teenagers fled together to Paris to find Marinette (whom they know she's Ladybug) and get her help to defeat Gabriel and being able to love each other freely, and the two shared a kiss before luring Marinette into their empty school to reveal to her the story of the Graham de Vanily sisters, which also showed that Kagami was aware of Félix being Flairmidable and his betrayal of Ladybug to get the Peacock Miraculous and still then she told Marinette they needed her help to be together, and at dawn Félix returned Kagami to her hotel room where they are now confident that Marinette will have the courage to fight Gabriel for Adrien. They shared another kiss before the former departed. However, due to her escape, Tomoe and Gabriel later locked her and Adrien in solitary confinement.

After Gabriel's defeat in "Re-creation, Kagami is seen sitting besides Félix (who has moved in the Agreste mansion with his mother following his uncle's death) at Adrien's pool party, with her sketching and blushing at him.

As their alter-egos, Ryuko and Flairmidable fight beside each other as a team, with Ladybug, Cat Noir and the rest of their Miraculous holder allies. However, she is unaware of his betrayal to her leader until they began their relationship. After Ladybug restores the Dragon Miraculous and gives it to Kagami, she as Ryuko rejoined Ladybug's superhero team with Argos.

Kagami initially didn't know Marinette too well, but when Adrien tells Kagami about her, she hopes to get to know her better. In "Frozer", she advises Marinette to stop hesitating in order to stop slipping on the ice. In "Animaestro", she treats Marinette hostilely due to her crush on Adrien.

During a friendship contest in "Ikari Gozen", Kagami attempts to make friends with Marinette. She finds her weird, seeing Marinette talking to herself, but continues on. When it results in Kagami discovering Marinette leaving and intentionally losing the contest, Kagami finds herself unworthy of their friendship, but when she hears Marinette on Kagami's phone with her mother, she urges her not to say anything and smiles when Marinette tells her mother she's Kagami's friend and tries to defend her, (and unknown to them, she also saves Kagami from being akumatized). Marinette apologizes for letting things slip out and tries to hide her from her akumatized mother. After saving her mother but not winning the contest, the game makes their friendship stronger, Kagami understood what Adrien said about her. She is glad to have Marinette as a friend, and the two go out together.

In "Heart Hunter", Kagami, Marinette and Adrien escape together from the Bourgeoises' party and have fun until they go to buy ice cream. She doesn't want to make Marinette feel bad if she begins dating Adrien, but her romantic feelings for him are stronger than Kagami's friendship with Marinette.

In "Mr. Pigeon 72", when learning about Kagami's breakup with Adrien, Marinette tries to bring them back together, despite Kagami's statement she was over him. Despite being dragged by Marinette to the pool where Adrien was making a commercial, Kagami amuses her, despite everything, until a certain point. After the titular villain is defeated, Kagami realizes and tells Marinette that everything she had said about what she would feel when falling in love again for Adrien was what the latter was feeling, even adding Adrien was perfect for Marinette.

In "Glaciator 2", knowing that Marinette has feelings for Adrien and of his condition, Kagami tells her that she is the one that makes Adrien happy. But still seeing her lack of confidence she suggested that Marinette trains with a partner that she has no feelings for. After the fencing tournament, she asked if Marinette told Adrien her feelings and when Marinette replied not yet. Kagami believed that her and Adrien's relationship would go terribly wrong, revealing she got the advice from a manga book she was reading but was told by Marinette that she needed to hang out in the real world with their friends more.

Kagami treasures her friendship with others especially Marinette very deeply seen in "Perfection". Being hurt that Marinette kept avoiding her to the point of hastily believing a friendship test and Lila in thinking she didn't deserve any friends. Causing her feel depressed and alone leading to her akumatization but seeing how much her friends did care about her led to reject the akuma. Afterwards Kagami hears Marinette apologize for avoiding her because she didn't want disappoint her since she tried so hard to get her and Adrien together but Kagami retorts with her own always having to be perfect so she can be good enough for someone and her lack of social contact. Making Marinette realize that was her problem she was embraced by her as thanks making Kagami believe they are friends with her emphasizing they are best of friends. At first, she worried about that knowing of Alya's status until being told that the love of friends doesn't divide but grows and heart-fully accepts her photo of them.

With that she had no qualms with Marinette taking her place as queen of the ball. But when Felix revealed himself that same care was shown again, when her friend was taken captive by him as Argos. And when Kagami was taken to Marinette's hiding place only to find her gone and Argos unable to bring her back she was furious with his actions. But seeing him undo everything and hearing that she was safe and sound Kagami embraced her with a hug. After an emotionally night, she shared some ice cream with her and Adrien; seeing the progress Marinette made in his relationship with Adrien she praised her.

But in "Pretension", when Ladybug appeared to save her from Felix, she stood her ground telling her that she was no prisoner and spoke on Felix's behalf about being misunderstood leaving the heroine confused. Nonetheless, Kagami still accepts the heroine's help in deakumatizing her mother.

In "Representation, it's revealed that Kagami is aware of Marinette being Ladybug, since having overheard her talking with Alya in "Perfection", and alongside Félix, she sought her help to defeat Gabriel, to be able of love each other freely, and after revealing Marinette the truth about Félix and his family, Kagami was asked by Argos if Marinette would have the courage to fight Gabriel, to which Kagami reassured him that nothing will stop her now.

Since Kagami was aware of Marinette's identity as Ladybug in "Perfection" and "Protection", despite being akumatized in both occasions she never relayed the information to Monarch likely because back then she didn't believe it herself and couldn't prove it but deep down Kagami didn't want to put one of her closest friends or the world in danger based upon lie. As well as knowing that the feelings Adrien has for Marinette is very real and had she put his lover in any danger she knew he be devastated, so like Nathalie, Kagami kept it secret to protect her, her happiness and the world. Respecting the wishes of her friend knowing it's not her secret to tell.

As Ryukomori, in "Perfection" she didn't like it when Ladybug disturbed her quest for perfection. However, when Ryuko hears that Ladybug can never let her use the Dragon Miraculous again, she believes it was because she had failed, but the heroine says the opposite. Since Hawk Moth knows her identity, it would put her friends and family in danger if she continues to be Ryuko. Kagami retorts about not having many friends but then takes Ladybug's advice, believing it's not about having many friends; it's about treasuring the true friendships you do have. In "Battle of the Miraculous", Ryuko follows Ladybug's orders without question and has a brief talk about her feelings towards her friends.

As Ryuko, she helped Ladybug on continuous missions until her last escapade in "Strikeback", stripped her of her powers.

However, in "Re-creation", after Gabriel's defeat, Kagami was happy that Ladybug gave her the Dragon Miraculous permanently and soon joined her restored superhero team, ready to protect Paris from the new villainous Butterfly Miraculous holder.
